Download the file 7z2201-x64.exe directly, of if you prefer go to the developer's download page.
Run the downloaded file to install the program using the default options.

Wait for the "Settings" window:

In the "Options" tab, mark the box "Start with Windows" if not already marked and unmark the box "Check for Updates Automatically" if you want.
In the "Status Indicators" tab, mark the indicators "Show Caps Lock Status" and "Show Num Lock Status" if not already marked. Mark other indicators if you want, but the indicators below "Pro Only" are for the paid version only.
If you want to switch to the free version without trying other paid functionalities first, and if you are sure you don't have a paid license already: in the "License Key" tab, click the button "Change to Free Version" and click "Yes" in the popup window.
At the bottom of the window click "OK" save your settings and click "OK" in the popup window.

Look for the new icons in the notification area of you Windows taskbar, clicking on the up arrow if necessary, and drag them to the desired position.
Inside your Documents folder the "TrayStatus Backups" folder was created: if there is no possibility of you ever have used any paid TrayStatus licence, this foler can be deleted.
